In their groundbreaking 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle made startling allegations about King Charles and Queen Camilla, accusing them of failing to support her and Prince Harry during their time as working royals.

Addressing rumors that she had made the Princess of Wales cry during a disagreement about Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress, Meghan claimed she felt “silenced” and unprotected by the Royal Family. Reflecting on her experience, she told Oprah:
“That was hard to reconcile because it was only once we were married and everything started to really worsen that I came to understand that not only was I not being protected, but that they were willing to lie to protect other members of the family.”
Meghan further emphasized her feelings in a pointed 13-word statement:
“They weren’t willing to tell the truth to protect me and my husband.”

While heavily pregnant with their daughter, Meghan revealed that a family member had raised “concerns and conversations” about how dark their son Archie’s skin might be before his birth in 2019.
