How Meghan Markle’s ex-husband Trevor Engelson got his ‘revenge’: Inside their rocky marriage and ugly divorce

Part 1 of 2

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been married for five years, but before Harry, Meghan was married to Trevor Engelson. Their marriage ended badly, but both have moved on and found happiness. Trevor has built significant wealth, and his career may surprise some.

Trevor, born on October 23, 1976, in Great Neck, New York, met Meghan early in her acting career. He attended the University of Southern California’s School of Communications. Recently, a friend revealed how Trevor got his “revenge” on Meghan, highlighting how he’s thrived since their divorce.

Who is Meghan Markle’s ex-husband Trevor Engelson?

Trevor Engelson, once a production assistant, became a successful film producer, working on projects like Remember Me (2010) and All About Steve. He also found success with the FX series Snowfall, produced under his company, Underground. In addition to producing, Engelson manages talent in Los Angeles, including writers, actors, and directors.

He met Meghan Markle in 2004, and after seven years of dating, they married in 2011 in a lavish three-day wedding in Jamaica with 100 guests. However, according to Meghan: A Hollywood Princess by Andrew Morton, Trevor wasn’t fond of Meghan’s briefcase model job on Deal or No Deal.

Trevor Engelson was ‘to busy’ to visit his wife

According to biographer Andrew Morton, Trevor Engelson’s absence during Meghan Markle’s time on the Deal or No Deal set was noticeable. Unlike the other models’ husbands or boyfriends, Trevor didn’t visit her, which was unusual. Morton suggests that Trevor was focused on his work as a producer, even skipping trips with Meghan during her downtime.

In 2011, the same year they married, Meghan’s career took off with Suits. As the show filmed in Toronto, their relationship faced the challenge of long-distance. Despite video calls, the distance created strain. Morton noted that Meghan, who once couldn’t imagine life without Trevor, was now building a life apart from him.

Meghan Markle allegedly posted her wedding ring to Trevor Engelson

“As Toronto became more her home than LA, the dynamics in their relationship subtly shifted,” an insider shared. Meghan Markle remained on Suits for over 100 episodes until 2018. But by 2013, she and Trevor Engelson had divorced, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Meghan’s half-brother Thomas later revealed that Trevor “worshipped the ground she walked on.” A 2017 source confirmed Trevor was “devastated” by the breakup, as Meghan’s focus shifted and their marriage ended. “She suddenly had no more time for him,” the source added.
