Royal expert gives tragic verdict on Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s relationship

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have started a new life in the US, but it hasn’t been without challenges. In fact, the accusations against the Royal Family have not only kept them in the public eye but have also drawn continuous criticism from commentators and experts who have condemned their public statements.

While the Sussexes have explored various business ventures – some more successful than others – it is their personal life that has consistently drawn the most public attention. Recently, a surprising claim emerged regarding troubles in their marriage, and now a royal expert has offered a harsh assessment of Meghan Markle.

Renowned royal author Tina Brown claims that Prince Harry has become a “lamb to the slaughter” due to the actions of his wife – and says that all of her ideas are “total crap”.

When Harry and Meghan relocated to the US, it marked the start of a new chapter, distancing them from the royal responsibilities that Harry, at least, had fulfilled for many years.

Prince Harry & Meghan Markle

Leaving the Royal Family was a significant decision for Harry, Meghan, and their son at the time, but they embraced it. Since then, they have welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet, who recently celebrated her third birthday.

Despite their repeated statements about wanting a more private life, the couple has made numerous allegations against the Royal Family, which were brought to light during their highly publicized Oprah Winfrey interview, their Netflix series, various other interviews, and most notably, Harry’s memoir, Spare.

Harry and Meghan have also pursued various business ventures. Meghan, in particular, launched her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchid, earlier this year, although its initial reception didn’t meet her expectations.

In April, Meghan faced criticism for allegedly overshadowing Kate Middleton by announcing a new jam flavor just hours before Kate’s return to royal duties at the Trooping the Colour event.

Sadly, the jam was mocked, not only for tasting average but also for its astronomical price tag.

Meghan Markle branded “sensitive about any criticism” by royal expert

Meghan Markle has reportedly been very upset by the criticism she has faced, according to royal expert Tom Quinn. He explained that Meghan was deeply affected by the negative reception her new brand, America Riviera Orchard, received when it was launched. “Meghan was in tears when the brand launched, and her new jam was widely mocked for being expensive and nothing special,” Quinn told the Mirror in May.

Quinn added that Meghan feels like “anything and everything she does will be unfairly criticized.” He mentioned that, similar to her husband, Meghan believes that people are “unfairly picking on her” and that she “cannot understand why people don’t admire her work.”

Furthermore, the royal expert noted that Meghan is particularly sensitive about the criticism of her luxurious lifestyle in the U.S., which she believes “is something to be admired not criticized.”

As stated in the trademark application submitted in February, America Riviera Orchard plans to sell a variety of products including home decor, kitchen items like cutlery and napkins, and even cookbooks, according to Harpers Bazaar. The application also indicates that the company will offer products such as “jellies, jams, marmalades, fruit preserves, edible oils and fats, and preserves, vegetable-based spreads, legume-based spreads, nut-based spreads, garlic-based spreads, sesame-based spreads, dairy-based spreads, nut butters, fruit butters.”

Another trademark application from March 9 revealed American Riviera will also branch out into selling cosmetic products, wallpaper, yoga equipment, and even gardening gear.

Royal author says Meghan Markle “has the worst judgment of anyone in the entire world.”

Although Meghan Markle has a very ambitious plan, not everyone is convinced of her potential success.

Royal expert Tina Brown, the best-selling author of royal biographies The Diana Chronicles and The Palace Papers, shared a harsh assessment of both Meghan and Prince Harry’s post-royal careers during her appearance on The Ankler podcast.

“In England, they’re going to constantly make a career out of trashing Harry. But actually, the thing about Harry is he’s very good at being Prince Harry,” Brown said.

She continued, “That’s the tragedy of all of this, is that he is the most talented member of the Royal Family, without doubt, in terms of being a prince, which is all he does know how to do… he’s really sort of flawless at it.”

Brown, a friend of Princess Diana who had lunch with her just weeks before Diana’s tragic death, did not hold back when speaking about Meghan. In fact, she essentially claimed that the Duchess has never had a truly good idea.

“I think [Prince Harry] is pretty much in the thrall of Meghan. The trouble with Meghan is that she has the worst judgment of anyone in the entire world. She’s flawless about getting it all wrong… She really is.”

Brown added: “She’s a perfectionist about getting it all wrong… Her issue is that she doesn’t listen… She has all these people, asks them their opinion, and then doesn’t follow it. She does what she wants to do. And all of her ideas are total crap, unfortunately.”

“Harry is the lamb to the slaughter”

For several years, Harry and Meghan have been criticizing the Royal Family, starting with their notorious Oprah Winfrey interview. By the time Harry’s memoir, Spare, was released, it seemed the royals had reached their breaking point. King Charles evicted the Sussexes from Frogmore Cottage shortly after Spare was published, and Prince William reportedly has no interest in reconciling with his brother.

While it no longer matters who is to blame for the current situation, Brown told The Ankler podcast that Prince Harry is “blindly” following his wife.

“(Harry is) the lamb to the slaughter in this situation,” Brown remarked. “He was terribly impressed by Meghan. He thought that she knew all, she persuaded him that she was the savvy Hollywood wheeler-dealer who could come in and make them stars and all the rest of it. And he just sort of blindly followed her like a child, really.”

Harry’s memoir appears to have been the final straw for the Royal Family. There are rumors that the Duke may release another book after his father’s death, and Harry himself admitted to cutting almost half of the content from the first draft of Spare, indicating there’s a lot of unreleased material.

However, Prince Harry may not be the only one with more to share about his royal experiences. According to royal expert Jennie Bond, Meghan Markle has a “weapon in her back pocket” that she could use to get her “revenge” against the royals.

Meghan Markle plans “revenge” on the Royal Family?

During her time as a senior working member of the Royal Family, it was reported that Meghan Markle maintained a personal diary.

In her 2023 interview with The Cut, the Duchess discussed her and Prince Harry’s new life in California following their departure from royal duties. Meghan mentioned that she wasn’t required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement when they left the monarchy and shared her experience of discovering her journal at Frogmore Cottage.

“You go back, and you open drawers, and you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh. This is what I was writing in my journal there,’” Meghan said.

On True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat, expert Roya Nikkhah pointed out that Meghan’s The Cut interview contained hints of “thinly veiled threats.”

“The thinly veiled threats that came in [Meghan’s interview with The Cut] … I think [she] probably hopes it does [feel threatening] to the Royal Family… [But] I think there’s a lot of eye-rolling, going, ‘We’re used to this by now’… [But] that phrase, ‘I have a lot to say until I don’t’ and, ‘I’ve never signed anything that restricts me from talking’… there was a very strong inference there,” Nikkah said.

Nikkhah further elaborated: “And, of course, the reminder that she keeps a journal, and [her] revelation that, ‘when we came back to Windsor, to Frogmore Cottage for the Jubilee, I rediscovered my journal that I’d left there’ – I was astonished to discover that she had left a highly private diary behind in Windsor, rather than taking it back.

“She’s mentioned a couple of times in the last year or two that she kept a journal, and I think there is a very strong inference that Meghan could write her own memoir,” Nikkhah concluded.

“A potential weapon in her back pocket”

Although Meghan Markle hasn’t discussed releasing her own book about her time in the Royal Family, the fact that she hasn’t yet shared her memoir from that period could, according to royal expert Jennie Bond, imply that revealing it might be “in her back pocket.”

“It’s more than two years since she gave that interview, and she has steered clear of controversy about the Royal Family since,” Bond shared with OK!.

“Obviously the journal she mentioned will remain a potential weapon in her back pocket if she ever feels the need to seek some sort of revenge. But she has behaved with discretion and dignity ever since Oprah and the documentary series.”

Bond added: “I think she is looking forwards, not backwards and is moving on with her life. So I don’t think we should be raising false alarms about any potential memoir.”
