San Francisco 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward recently shared the heartbreaking news of the loss of his 1-year-old daughter, Amani Joy.
“We are heartbroken that our beautiful baby girl, Amani Joy, passed away on Monday morning,” Ward wrote in his post.
“She was the greatest blessing we could have wished for, and her joyful spirit brought smiles to our faces. She taught us patience, trust, and a positive outlook on life. She showed incredible strength and courage, overcoming challenges at such a young age. She was always happy, lighting up every room with her smile.
“Being her parents and seeing life through her eyes has changed us profoundly. She will always be daddy’s best friend and mommy’s little girl. We’ll love and miss you forever, Amani Joy.”
Alongside his Instagram tribute, Ward also shared two Instagram stories: one with a black background and the words, “I’m Broken 💔💔💔💔,” and another featuring Amani Joy in an onesie, captioned, “My Baby. My Life. My Queen. My Heart. My Everything 💔💔💔💔💔.”
The 49ers also expressed their condolences: “The 49ers family is heartbroken over the sudden loss of Charvarius Ward’s beloved one-year-old daughter, Amani Joy. She radiated pure happiness and brought joy to everyone around her with her sweet spirit and infectious laugh. We continue to grieve with Charvarius and Monique, sending them love and support during this unimaginable time.”
