All the celebs who fled US after Trump was elected as president

Part 1 of 2

Several celebrities have spoken out about wanting to “escape” the U.S. following Donald Trump’s return to the presidency.

Earlier this week, Trump was officially sworn in as the 47th president of the United States.

His inauguration ceremony took place on Monday (January 20) and was attended by numerous high-profile figures. Notably, he is the first person with a felony conviction to assume the presidency.

Like many Americans, some celebrities are questioning how Trump’s leadership will impact their lives.

A few have even made the decision to leave the U.S. entirely in response to his presidency.

Interestingly, it seems that the majority of those choosing to relocate are women.

Here’s a complete list of celebrities who have already left Trump’s America—along with those who are seriously considering it.

Eva Longoria

Longoria was among the first to announce that she has moved out of the U.S., now dividing her time between Spain and Mexico.

Speaking to Marie Claire about Trump’s policies, the actress remarked, “If he keeps his promises, it’s going to be a scary place.”

She went on to say, “I’m privileged. I get to escape and go somewhere.

“Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.”

The former talk show host has now relocated to the UK with her wife, declaring that they will “never return” following Trump’s election.

A source close to the couple, speaking anonymously to The Wrap, revealed that they have settled in the Cotswolds and have no plans to return to the U.S.—especially not while Trump is still in power.

The actress has reportedly moved her family to the UK and is now searching for schools in London for her children.

A source told the Daily Mail: “She is going to continue to have a presence in the US for work purposes and to fight for Latinas and women, but she will be overseas for family and to benefit her kids’ education.

“She wants them to have the best opportunities possible and to her, being overseas for that is what is important.

“She’s not abandoning the US, she is prioritizing her life and focusing on the importance for her kids.”

The acclaimed singer and actress had previously told Stephen Colbert in no uncertain terms that she had no intention of staying in the U.S. if Trump were to return to power.
