‘Reason why’ Kate Middleton broke huge tradition in emotional Mother’s Day post

Part 1 of 2

The Princess of Wales took a different approach to her usual Mother’s Day posts this year, sparking curiosity among fans who all seem to be asking the same question: “Why?”

For those who may have missed Kate’s 2025 post, the mother of three chose to share an emotional video on social media on March 30, crediting Mother Nature rather than posting the traditional family photos.

The video, which notably does not feature her children—Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte—shows the 43-year-old gently touching the bark of a tree.

Meanwhile, Prince William appears briefly in the footage, seen only from behind as he walks through a forest with the family’s dog, Orla.

Kate captioned the post: “Over the past year, nature has been our sanctuary.”

“This Mother’s Day, let us celebrate Mother Nature and recognise how our bond with the natural world can help not only nurture our inner selves, but remind us too of the role we play within the rich tapestry of life. C.”

For those who closely follow the British monarchy, Kate’s latest Mother’s Day message stands in stark contrast to her usual posts for the occasion.

Royal author Robert Hardman suggests that this deliberate shift in approach was likely a direct response to the controversy surrounding last year’s Photoshop incident.

Back in 2024, Kate unintentionally ignited a global debate after sharing an edited photo of her children online. Observant viewers quickly pointed out inconsistencies in the image—such as an altered area near Charlotte’s sleeve, uneven window panes, a missing window reflection, and a zipper on Kate’s jacket that appeared to stop mid-way. As a result, the Princess had to issue a public apology.

The situation unfolded at a time when speculation about her well-being was already running high. Kate had remained out of the public eye for the first three months of the year, fueling widespread and often bizarre theories about her absence.
