Urgent hunt for missing schoolgirl, 12, who didn’t come home last night

A 12-year-old girl who had been missing for over a day has now been located safely.

Gracie, from Blurton in Stoke-on-Trent, was last seen on Sunday at around 2:20 p.m. near Ingestre Square after leaving her home earlier that morning at 11:30 a.m.

Police launched an urgent search after she failed to return home that night. Thankfully, authorities have since confirmed to Metro that Gracie has been found.

At the time, Staffordshire Police issued a public appeal:
“We need your help in finding 12-year-old Gracie, from Stoke-on-Trent.
Gracie left her home in Blurton at 11.30am on Sunday 6 April and was last seen on Ingestre Square at around 2.20pm that day.
She is described as being 5ft tall and having shoulder length mousey brown hair.
It is believed that she may be wearing black leggings and a leopard-print top.”

Gracie is known to frequent the Blurton area, where many of her friends live.

Ingestre Square, where she was last seen, is located about three miles southwest of Stoke-on-Trent city centre.

Anyone who has seen Gracie, or knows where she is, should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 727 of 6 April.

What should you do if someone goes missing?

If you think you’ve seen a missing person, it’s best to report it either to the police or the charity Missing People. You can check for active appeals on their website, though not all missing persons are listed there — some may only be publicized through police announcements or social media.

If you prefer to report information anonymously, Missing People can pass it on to the police on your behalf. But in urgent cases, contacting the police directly is often faster and more effective.

Keep in mind: if you can’t find a person on any missing persons list or posts, they may not officially be reported as missing yet.
