Donald Trump demanded comedian be ‘deported’ after he embarrassed US President on golf course

Donald Trump once wanted a comedian to be “deported” because of something he did to him during a visit to a golf course in the UK.

At 78, Trump is still one of the most talked-about figures in the world. He’s currently serving his second term as President of the United States after being re-elected in November 2024. His first term was from 2017 to 2021.

Outside of politics, Trump often relaxes by playing golf — usually at one of the many luxury courses he owns around the globe.

He’s said to be quite good at it too. According to Today’s Golfer, “he is a steady single-digit player who hits a solid deceptively long ball…. and he plays quickly, very quickly.”

Normally, a golf course is a peaceful and calm place — but that wasn’t the case at Trump Turnberry Golf Resort in Ayr, Scotland, back in 2016, when something totally unexpected happened.

A comedian, using the alter ego Simon Brodkin (previously known as Lee Nelson), made headlines around the world by crashing the resort’s reopening and handing out golf balls decorated with swastikas and Nazi symbols.

Nelson, 47, said that Trump “wanted to throw the book at him” before Police Scotland stepped in and “convinced Trump to not press charges”.

I do have a criminal record, but also a lot to thank the Scottish police for – they were brilliant,” Nelson told The Scottish Sun.

Nelson shared that Trump had wanted to come down hard on him, but the Scottish police talked him out of pressing charges.

Trump wanted to really throw the book at me, and the Scottish police convinced him not to press charges.

Who wants to get waterboarded by the CIA when you can have an Irn Bru in the back of a police van?

I was in there for ages with the coppers, and it felt more like I was on a stag do than anything else. They drove me to the airport and put me on a plane back to London and told Trump and his team I was deported.”

This wasn’t the first time Nelson had pulled a prank on a big-name figure.

He had previously embarrassed people like former UK Prime Minister Theresa May, ex-FIFA boss Sepp Blatter, and rapper Kanye West.

But Nelson also admitted that not everyone is fair game when it comes to pranking.

There’s many targets who would be fun to go for but might end up with a death sentence,” Brodkin told Sky in 2019. “Like if I went for Kim Jong Un.

And then I think if you go for someone like the Queen, that would just be a national catastrophe because you need to go for people with that sweet spot who most people pat you on the back and go, ‘that was funny’.”
