Prince Harry and King Charles could have ‘in-person meeting’ in just weeks

A potential meeting between Prince Harry and King Charles III may take place this September during Harry’s expected visit to the UK for the annual WellChild Awards, according to royal commentator Kinsey Schofield.

Speaking to Sky News Australia, Schofield suggested a brief reunion “could happen” depending on the king’s schedule. The WellChild event, a charity close to Prince Harry’s heart, will bring him back to London for a rare visit.

However, questions remain about the feasibility of such a meeting. Some commentators have pointed to ongoing tensions and trust concerns within the royal family as significant barriers. Earlier this month, representatives from both camps reportedly held preliminary talks at the Royal Over-Seas League in London, a possible step toward reconciliation.

The discussions involved Prince Harry’s aides and King Charles’ communications secretary. Still, no involvement from Prince William or Princess Catherine’s teams was reported, highlighting the complex dynamics within the royal household.

While Prince Harry has expressed publicly his hope for peace and reconciliation with his family—including comments to the BBC in May—analysts note that trust remains a key issue. The last in-person meeting between Harry and King Charles was over 18 months ago.

The King’s September calendar may also be tight, especially with the upcoming state visit by U.S. President Donald Trump scheduled for mid-September.

Whether this meeting will take place remains uncertain, but it has renewed public interest in the evolving relationship between the Duke of Sussex and the royal family.
