Espresso the 2-year-old cat is available for adoption through the Ohio SPCA & Humane Society
Anyone in the mood for some espresso?
Espresso the cat is looking for a home, the Ohio SPCA & Humane Society shared on Facebook on Friday, Aug. 2. The cat, who is estimated to be two years old and an absolute sweetheart, has been at the shelter for a month waiting for a home, and the shelter thinks it’s because of her unique look.
The social media update kicked off with the lyrics to Sabrina Carpenter’s song “Espresso.” “That’s that me espresso,” the post opened.
“Espresso came to the shelter as an injured stray who was also nursing her babies. Her injuries healed up nicely and her babies are also ready for homes!” the nonprofit added. “As you can see, Espresso’s right eye is much smaller than her left. We believe this was either a birth defect or an old injury.”
According to the Ohio SPCA & Humane Society, Espresso isn’t negatively impacted by her eye sizes.
“It doesn’t bother her one bit, she just looks unique!” the organization wrote.
“Unfortunately people will see something different about an animal and tend to not give them a chance,” the Ohio SPCA added. “Espresso is a quiet but very friendly girl. She does well with other cats and people of all ages, and is content watching the birds outside and her roommates play with toys.”
Petfinder lists Espresso, who sports a calico fur pattern, as a domestic shorthair mix.
People on Facebook commented on the post about the sweet cat, sending her love and hoping she finds a home soon. “She’s beautiful. No living animal or person is perfect, every living creature has its own unique look,” one person wrote.
“Oh my goodness she’s so beautiful! Sharing to help her find her furever home!” another said, sharing the post. As of publishing, the Facebook post has been shared over 200 times.
The Ohio SPCA & Humane Society did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Espresso’ current status.
