The picture has had 800,000 likes on Facebook, and has been praised for ‘restoring faith in humanity’
A PHOTO of an old man spoon feeding his wife ice cream has been heralded as “a beautiful display of love”.
Facebook user Brent Kelley snapped the elderly gent’s act of kindness after he stopped to pick up some ice cream for his children on a hot day.
A picture of an old man feeding his wife ice cream in a petrol station forecourt has enchanted the internet

Brent, who lives in Nashville, Tennessee, posted the photo online, where it’s been shared more than 324,000 times and received over 800,000 likes.
He captioned the shot: “So today, I took the kids to the pool and we stopped for ice cream on the way home.
“When I got my ice cream and pulled out, I realised that this elderly man beside me was sitting out side his car door, spoon feeding his wife ice cream who also looked in her late eighties.
“He draped a towel over her and slowly fed his bride in the 98 degree temperature.
“It was a beautiful display of love.”
People on Facebook were caught up in the moment, with one writing: “Wedding vows, really do have a great meaning. He’s following them,as he promised. Bless them both.”
The old mans wife can be seen sitting in the back of the car with a towel over her to mop up spills

Another commented: “You watch the news with all the horror in the world and then see this. Restores your faith in seconds.”
Others added: “how adorable is this, more people like this and the world would be such a better place”, and “That’s true love. For richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, beautiful. We all could learn a valuable lesson here.”
This week we revealed a new Channel 4 show will see 4-year-old children go to nursery in an old people’s home for six weeks – with heartwarming results.
And in April we shared a shocking video of two OAPs having a punch-up outside their care home in Hebburn, Tyne and Wear.
