Fans Slam Meghan Markle for Wearing Expensive Jewelry While Visiting Eaton Fire Victims – Video

Part 2 of 2

On X, opinions were equally divided. Some accused the couple of using the visit for publicity, while others defended their intentions, highlighting their compassion and contributions. Filmmaker Justine Bateman criticized the visit, calling it a “photo op” and accusing them of being “disaster tourists.”

Despite the criticism, the couple’s involvement extended beyond appearances. In an official statement, they acknowledged the devastation caused by the wildfires and encouraged public support for organizations providing direct aid. They highlighted the work of partners like World Central Kitchen, CAL FIRE, and the LA Fire Department Foundation, along with animal welfare groups and Baby2Baby.

Harry and Meghan also encouraged individuals to help displaced friends, neighbors, and pets and to donate essential items through organizations like the American Red Cross and Airbnb. In light of the wildfire crisis, Meghan decided to delay the release of her upcoming Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan,” from January to March 4, 2025.

The couple’s Montecito home, unaffected by the wildfires, has been opened to friends and loved ones displaced by the fires. Their Archewell Foundation has been actively coordinating with relief agencies to support recovery efforts, providing meals, mental health services, and essential supplies.

Since January 7, 2025, wildfires have ravaged Los Angeles County, forcing over 100,000 residents to evacuate. The ongoing involvement of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, though polarizing, has underscored the urgent need for aid and solidarity during this crisis. Their actions have brought attention to the challenges facing Southern California communities in this time of need.
