Prince Harry delivered a striking interview to the BBC on May 2, just hours after losing his appeal for state-funded security.

While addressing the court’s decision, the Duke of Sussex also made pointed accusations against the royal family. According to an insider, Prince William and Kate Middleton were left feeling deeply “hurt and betrayed” by Harry’s decision to once again share grievances publicly.

Allegations Against the Royal Family

In the sit-down, Harry alleged that his family intentionally stripped him of security to push him away from life in the United Kingdom. A source told Us Weekly, “William is more hurt than anything else.”

They explained that the Prince and Princess of Wales are keeping Harry and Meghan Markle at arm’s length: “No one on the staff can mention Meghan’s name to Kate right now; her name is basically banned because of the stress around it, and she doesn’t want it anymore.” Reportedly, William and Kate even avoid speaking Harry’s name in private to reduce household tension.

Harry’s Plea for Reconciliation

Despite his sharp words, Harry also used the interview to call for peace with his family. He said, “Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has, he won’t speak to me because of this security stuff. It would be nice to reconcile.”

Commenting on this, the insider suggested that while William and Kate “can forgive Harry because he is family,” they “don’t want to see Meghan again.”

The source stressed, “Everything changed when Meghan came into the fold. [But] she’s not to blame for everything, and Harry is a part of it. The first step is to stop talking to the public about private matters. They don’t see a path forward until Harry can stay quiet.”

Talk of Future Coronation Bans

Page Six reported that William may be planning to exclude Harry from his future coronation because of the turmoil caused. A royal insider remarked, “Before the interview, we thought, ‘Come on William, extend a hand to your brother.’ But now it seems that Harry hasn’t learned s–t.”

Royal commentator Hugo Vickers added that although protocol might suggest William should invite his younger brother, “he can do what he likes.” He drew a parallel to the past, noting, “The Duke of Windsor was not invited to [his niece Queen Elizabeth’s] coronation in 1953. There was a lot of discussion about it.”

William’s Reported Feelings

A close friend of William also told the Daily Beast that the Prince of Wales believes Harry and Meghan’s actions have been “absolutely vile.” According to the source, Harry’s latest remarks made it clear that “he [William] has no interest in reconciling.” The insider concluded that William has simply “had enough” of his brother’s behavior.
