Prince George Would Inherit Not One, Not Two — But 8 New Titles When William Becomes King

Part 1 of 2

At just 11 years old, Prince George, second in line to the British throne, already has much of his future mapped out.

When his father, Prince William, eventually becomes King, George will inherit not just the weight of royal duty—but a collection of eight prestigious titles passed down through the monarchy.

Early Signs of Royal Readiness

George has already begun to show signs of maturity and composure in the public eye. Most recently, on VE Day, he joined his parents at a tea party honoring World War II veterans. Notably, his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, were not present—prompting royal watchers to suggest that George is being gradually prepared for the role he will one day take on.

Set to turn 12 this month, the young royal has an impressive slate of titles waiting for him. As The Express reported, George is expected to become the 28th Prince of Wales, following William, the 27th to hold the title. He will also assume the role of Duke of Cornwall—previously held by King Charles—and numerous others recognized by the Registers of Scotland.

Their official statement reads: “The heir apparent to the throne holds the title of Prince and Great Steward of Scotland: currently Prince William, who bears the other Scottish titles of Duke of Rothesay, Earl of Carrick, Lord of the Isles, and Baron of Renfrew.” George will also become the Earl of Chester, bringing his total to eight new titles. His future spouse will receive corresponding ranks.

Balancing Duty with Childhood

With King Charles currently battling cancer and William expected to take the throne sooner than once anticipated, the Prince and Princess of Wales are reportedly doing everything they can to prepare George for his destiny—while also ensuring he has a grounded, joyful childhood.
