Princess Charlotte just quietly achieved major royal milestone and nobody noticed

Part 1 of 2

While all eyes were on the UEFA Women’s Euros final this weekend, Princess Charlotte quietly made royal history — and most people didn’t even notice.

The 10-year-old, who is Prince William and Kate Middleton’s second child, joined her father in Basel, Switzerland on July 27 to watch the championship match.

Millions tuned in as Spain struck first, scoring a goal within the opening 25 minutes. Tension was high until England leveled the score in the 57th minute thanks to Alessia Russo.

With the game locked at 1-1 through extra time, the final came down to a dramatic penalty shootout. England pulled through, beating Spain 3-1 with successful shots by Alex Greenwood, Niamh Charles, and Chloe Kelly — securing their second consecutive Women’s Euros title.

Charlotte Signs Her First Official Statement

As the Lionesses celebrated their win, Princess Charlotte quietly marked a turning point in her royal journey. For the first time ever, she used her full name in an official public message — a significant step for the young royal.

Charlotte, who has previously only signed messages with the initial “C,” joined her father in releasing a congratulatory statement to the England squad, signed simply: “W & Charlotte.”

The message, shared on Kensington Royal’s official X account, read:
“What a game! @Lionesses, you are the champions of Europe and we couldn’t be prouder of the whole team. Enjoy this moment @England.
W & Charlotte.”

A Subtle But Powerful Sign of Growing Royal Duties

This marks the first time Charlotte has signed her full name in an official royal capacity, signaling her growing role within the monarchy. Rather than a simple initial, the use of her full name suggests a step toward learning the formalities of royal communication — where a signature holds meaning, authority, and presence.
