Royal tailor set record straight on infamous Kate and Meghan bridesmaid drama as text messages between them are revealed

Part 1 of 2

Following Prince Harry’s revelation of their text exchanges, a royal tailor cleared the air on the famed Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle bridesmaid controversy.

In his explosive book, Spare, published last year, the Duke of Sussex described the tumult surrounding his and Meghan’s wedding day in 2018.

In the book, Harry detailed what truly happened days before the wedding, replying to the constant tabloid reports that Meghan supposedly made Kate cry in the run-up to the event.

In her Oprah interview, Meghan argued it was the other way around, but added: “I don’t think it’s fair to her to get into the details, because she apologized. And I’ve forgiven her.”

Harry, on the other hand, was eager to discuss the specifics.

In his book, the father-of-two claimed that his wife-to-be and sister-in-law had a disagreement over bridesmaid outfits for Kate’s second-eldest child, Princess Charlotte.

With Kate and William’s daughter, Charlotte, scheduled to attend their wedding, Harry stated that there was a disagreement over the fit of her dress.

He recalls Kate contacting Meghan just four days before the wedding to tell her that the ‘French Couture’ outfits needed to be remade.

He wrote that Kate felt frustrated when Meghan did not respond to her right away.

“Meg didn’t reply to Kate straight away,” said Harry. “Yes, she had endless wedding-related texts, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father. So the next morning she texted Kate that our tailor was standing by.

“This wasn’t sufficient,” he added.

Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle Snr, had heart surgery in 2018 and was unable to attend her wedding.

According to Harry, Kate later complained: “Charlotte’s dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on a[t] home.”

Meghan supposedly said, “Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8 am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?”

Kate reportedly protested, saying, “No, all the dresses need to be remade.”
