Recipe: Anti-aging remedy to rejuvenate the face

Looking for a nighttime skin remedy that hydrates, calms, and revives your glow?
What if the answer is sitting right in your kitchen? This simple DIY flaxseed gel could be your next favorite skincare trick.

Nature’s power for glowing skin

In the world of natural beauty, some homemade treatments rival even high-end skincare products — and flaxseed with aloe vera night gel is a prime example. It’s deeply hydrating, calming, and packed with plant-based collagen that helps smooth, plump, and shield your skin. The best part? It’s completely homemade, budget-friendly, and super easy to whip up.

Why flaxseed?

These tiny seeds are nutritional gems. They’re loaded with omega-3 fatty acids and mucilage — natural fibers that turn into a gel when mixed with water. This gel is naturally rich in plant collagen, which helps retain moisture, soothe irritation, and support the skin’s barrier. Perfect for dry, sensitive, or stressed-out skin.

Skin-loving boosters: aloe vera and vitamin E

Aloe vera is famous for its hydrating and anti-inflammatory properties, and it also encourages skin regeneration. Meanwhile, vitamin E works as a strong antioxidant, shielding your skin from signs of early aging.

How to make your own nighttime gel

You’ll need:

  • 60 g flaxseeds
  • 500 ml water
  • 3 tbsp aloe vera gel (fresh or store-bought)
  • 1 tsp vitamin E oil
  • Optional: a few drops of essential oil (lavender, tea tree, etc.)

Steps:

  1. Simmer the flaxseeds:
Combine flaxseeds and water in a pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes. Stir regularly. It will slowly turn into a gel-like consistency.
  2. Strain the mixture:
Once thickened, remove from heat and let cool. Strain through a fine mesh sieve or clean cloth, keeping only the gel.
  3. Add aloe vera and vitamin E:
Once the gel is cool, mix in the aloe vera gel and vitamin E oil. Stir well until you get a smooth, consistent texture.
  4. Customize it (optional):
Add 2–3 drops of essential oils like lavender (for relaxation) or tea tree (for purifying effects). Be cautious — essential oils are potent!
  5. Store it properly:
Pour the gel into a clean, airtight glass container. Keep it in the fridge for up to 1–2 weeks.

How to use:

After cleansing your face at night, apply a small amount and gently massage it in. It absorbs quickly and leaves your skin soft and nourished. You can also use it as an after-sun soother or to moisturize dry patches on the body.
