Melissa Sloan, known as Britain’s “most tattooed mother,” shocked people by sharing a photo of herself without her usual tattoos, showing a dramatic contrast.
Having started her tattoo journey around ten years ago, Sloan has accumulated more than 800 tattoos. As a mother of seven, she has kept up with getting three tattoos each week over the course of the decade. She even admitted that she doesn’t remember what she looked like before her body and face were covered in ink.
To showcase a different side, Sloan used foundation makeup to cover her tattoos, spending just £3 on the product.

It goes without saying that those who hadn’t seen what she looked like before the tattoos, including her two young sons, were shocked by the transformation, though that didn’t mean they were fond of her “new” appearance.
In an interview with Daily Star, Sloan shared, “None of them talked to me that day, the kids weren’t having none of it. It didn’t go down well.”
“They said ‘go back to your craziness mum,’ none of them spoke to me. It wasn’t the same, it’s like they were looking at a different person, a stranger.”
“When it came off again, they were back to normal – it should have been the other way round,” she added.
Her five older children are not pleased with their mother’s tattoos. In fact, Sloan no longer has contact with them.
People who have seen Sloan’s before and after photos commented that she looked stunning without the tattoos.
Despite this, Sloan clarified that her transformation was just a small experiment. She expressed that she feels confident in her tattoos and has no regrets, even though online trolls have labeled her a “smurf” or a “freak.”
Melissa Sloan’s tattoos symbolize personal values like freedom, creativity, and resilience in the face of judgment. She embraces her individuality and uses her tattoos as a way to teach her children about self-acceptance and the diversity of beauty.
