The couple recently welcomed a new member to their family, a baby girl named Athena, who arrived several weeks ahead of schedule.

Buckingham Palace released a statement announcing: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born on Wednesday, January 22, at 12:57 PM at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.

“The baby was born weighing 4 pounds and 5 ounces.

“Their Majesties The King and Queen, along with other members of the royal family, have been informed and are overjoyed by the news.”

Beatrice and her baby daughter are now thought to be at home, accompanied by Athena’s siblings—three-year-old Sienna and Beatrice’s eight-year-old stepson, Wolfie.

The couple has shared a photo of their newborn dressed in a long-sleeved baby sleepsuit and wrapped in a soft pink blanket.

Originally expected to give birth in early spring, Beatrice was advised by doctors in December to avoid long-distance travel.

Beatrice and Edoardo have also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for “their wonderful care.”

Beatrice announced she was expecting her second child in October (PA)

Back in October, Beatrice shared the joyful news that she was expecting her second child.

To mark the announcement, the royal family released new photos. One image captured little Sienna walking hand in hand between her father and big brother, Wolfie, along a scenic country path. Another showed Beatrice beaming at the camera while her husband wrapped her in a warm embrace.

In an official statement, Buckingham Palace confirmed: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring; a sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three.

“His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”

Beatrice, the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah Ferguson, is now preparing to welcome the York family’s fourth grandchild.

The baby, who will not hold an HRH title, is 11th in line to the throne, moving Beatrice’s younger sister, Princess Eugenie, to 12th place. Additionally, the child will be the 14th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the second born after her passing in 2022.
