King Charles Hospitalized — Details

Royal plans took an unexpected turn this week as the 76-year-old monarch made a brief hospital visit—without Queen Camilla. Buckingham Palace later released a statement addressing the situation.

King Charles III visited The London Clinic on Thursday after experiencing temporary side effects from his cancer treatment, The Sun reported.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that he returned to Clarence House the same day and postponed engagements scheduled for Thursday and Friday. Queen Camilla was not present during his hospital visit.

A palace spokesperson stated, “Following scheduled and ongoing medical treatment for cancer this morning, The King experienced temporary side effects that required a short period of observation in hospital.”

Sources close to the Palace described the episode as “a most minor bump in a road,” reassuring that the King is “very much heading in the right direction.” Officials also noted that such side effects are common among cancer patients.

By Thursday evening, the King had resumed his duties from his study, reviewing state papers and making calls. While the Palace may adjust certain upcoming engagements, the State Visit to Italy in April is still expected to go ahead as planned.
