Meghan Markle is a proud and fashionable mom!
On Tuesday, Feb. 4, the Duchess of Sussex shared her very first Instagram selfie video. Sharp-eyed fans quickly spotted a touching tribute to her children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
In the clip, Meghan sported a classic black crewneck sweater paired with blue jeans. What made the outfit special was the delicate white cursive lettering near the neckline—her kids’ names subtly embroidered as a heartfelt nod to them.

The mother of two appeared without makeup in the video, complementing her relaxed style with two gold bracelets and wearing her brown hair loose over one side.
In the clip, Meghan enthusiastically expresses her excitement upon receiving Billie Eilish merchandise—including a signed copy of the singer’s latest album, Hit Me Hard and Soft—which she planned to gift to a 15-year-old girl whose home was damaged during the L.A. wildfires in January.
She recounted meeting the teenager and her mother while visiting a wildfire-affected community. According to Meghan, the mother shared that her daughter had lost a cherished Billie Eilish T-shirt while evacuating.
The Duchess of Sussex made her return to Instagram on Jan. 1 under the handle @meghan, marking her comeback to social media after deleting her accounts in January 2018.
Although she and Prince Harry later created a joint Instagram account, @SussexRoyal, it has remained inactive since they stepped down from their senior royal duties in 2020, with the last post appearing in March of that year.
The couple has had a complex history with social media, and even with Meghan’s new account, she has shared only a few personal updates.
Regarding whether her children will appear in her posts, a friend of Meghan and Harry told PEOPLE over the summer that the couple is mindful of protecting their kids and keeping them out of the public eye.
A friend shared with PEOPLE, “Harry has been reluctant to show his children publicly, not out of a desire to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats. He wants them to lead as normal a life as possible without the fear of kidnapping or harm.”
“As a dad and husband, Harry is determined to ensure that history doesn’t repeat itself,” the friend added, referring to the tragic passing of his mother, Princess Diana, in 1997.
Meanwhile, the new Instagram account was created ahead of Meghan’s upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. Originally set to premiere on January 15, the release was postponed to March 4 due to the Los Angeles wildfires, with Netflix fully supporting the decision.
“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” Meghan said in a statement.
