Prince George spotted ‘discreetly’ rescuing Princess Charlotte during Christmas appearance

This week, fans of the Royal Family have showered future-king Prince George with praise.

The 11-year-old garnered attention for a heartwarming display of kindness towards his younger sister during yesterday’s Christmas service in Sandringham, with many taking to the internet to commend him.

Alongside siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, Prince George joined their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and numerous other prominent royals at St. Mary Magdalene Church, following the monarchy’s long-standing Christmas tradition.

For many years, the King or Queen of England has led the procession to the Sandringham church, engaging with enthusiastic members of the public before and after the service.

While the adults, particularly Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex, typically take the spotlight—shaking hands and accepting gifts from the crowd—the Wales’ royal children managed to steal the limelight this year.

The trio were seen by spectators as they walked through the crowd, offering well-wishes. Nine-year-old Princess Charlotte, in particular, appeared to be one of the most popular royals.

Yet, it was a deeply touching moment involving Charlotte and her older brother George that captured viewers’ hearts. A clip of this moment has since gone viral online.

The video, recorded by a nearby onlooker, captured the young Princess Charlotte walking along a line of spectators, with numerous hands reaching out to her—some offering flowers, others holding gifts.

As time passed, Charlotte’s arms became overloaded with presents, leaving her unable to shake any more hands.

She tried to seek help from her father, but Prince William was too occupied greeting others.

Fortunately, Charlotte’s struggle did not go unnoticed by Prince George, who subtly stepped in to relieve her of some of her gifts, a gesture that has been praised online.

“What a nice move there #PrinceGeorge,” one user wrote on X. “He saw the man waiting to shake hands with Princess Charlotte, but she had things in her hands. She nudged her dad, but he was busy, so BIG BROTHER to the rescue!”

Another commented: “Love how discreetly George did that. Minimum of fuss. Also like how the officer stepped up when there seemed to be something off.”

“Aw George watching out for his little sister is so sweet,” a third user remarked.

After Wednesday’s service, the Wales family and their children, along with 45 other royals, gathered for a grand family Christmas at Buckingham Palace, following an invitation from King Charles.

In a festive first, as the royal family typically meets at either Sandringham or Windsor Castle, they all came together at the palace’s central headquarters. Among the attendees were Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, their husbands and children, the Wessexes, Princess Anne, the Tindalls, and their children.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, stayed in Montecito, California, for the holidays. Prince Andrew, however, was reportedly excluded from the gathering, likely due to his recent connection to an alleged Chinese spy.
