Prince William and Princess Kate traveled to Wales today for a series of engagements leading up to St. David’s Day on March 1.
The couple arrived by train on Wednesday, February 26, marking their first joint engagement since taking a break last week.
Their visit took them to Pontypridd in South Wales, a town that had been impacted by Storm Bert and Storm Darragh in November and December of the previous year.
Prince William and Princess Kate Visit Pontypridd
During their time in Pontypridd, the royal couple toured Pontypridd Market and stopped by The Welsh Cake Shop, where they had the chance to learn how to make traditional Welsh cakes.
It was during this visit that a touching moment between the two was caught on camera. As they put on aprons and prepared to bake, William was seen tying his apron while chatting with Kate. The princess then walked over and gently placed a hand on his side, giving him a quick tap, a gesture that delighted fans.
A video of the moment, shared online, quickly gained attention, with royal enthusiasts praising the couple’s affectionate dynamic.
One fan commented, “Genuine love right there!”
Another added, “They are so natural together.”
A third admirer gushed, “I love seeing them happy and enjoying the moment.”
Someone else wrote, “These two are so in love.”
After the sweet exchange, the pair got to work baking Welsh cakes—traditional sweet bread that bears some similarity to scones.
Princess Kate’s Stunning Look in Wales
Aside from their activities, many royal watchers couldn’t help but admire Kate’s radiant appearance. Her signature long, bouncy locks were styled in soft waves, drawing compliments from fans.
Dressed for the chilly weather, she wore a red wool coat over a brown turtleneck and completed the ensemble with brown suede boots.
One admirer praised, “What a joy to see HRH the Princess of Wales, the future queen, looking so well, so beautiful, always elegant and loving.”
Another person gushed, “The Princess of Wales is truly iconic. Her hair!”
Kate’s Hair Sparks Debate
However, not everyone was focused solely on her style—some expressed concern over her choice to leave her hair untied while preparing food.
One person commented, “OMG… I love Princess Catherine… but please tie your hair back when creating food for other people.”
Another added, “No thank you! Cake with hair is a no-no! Just saying.”
A third asked, “Why is her hair not tied back?”
However, one user defended Kate’s choice, responding, “Because they won’t be for public consumption.”
