Queen Camilla keeps Prince William in check when he’s ‘disrespectful’

Queen Camilla reportedly keeps Prince William in check with subtle reminders whenever she feels he’s not respecting his father, King Charles, a new book has claimed.

According to royal correspondent and author Robert Jobson, William would sometimes get too big for his britches back when his father was still the Prince of Wales.

In an excerpt from his upcoming book, “Catherine, the Princess of Wales,” obtained by the Mirror, Jobson recalled one particular incident involving William and his wife, Kate Middleton, asking to join Charles and Camilla’s security convoy to leave Windsor Castle.

According to royal author Robert Jobson, William would sometimes get too big for his britches when his father was still the Prince of Wales.

William’s request did not sit well with Camilla, who, along with her husband, made the Cambridges wait in what Jobson referred to as a “subtle” slight.

To make her point to William, Jobson claims, Camilla instructed Charles to proceed without them.

“When Charles was left waiting for several minutes, Camilla insisted they leave,” Jobson noted.

“When William and Catherine finally appeared, all they saw were the blue lights of the motorbikes fading away.”

The Post has contacted Buckingham Palace for a statement.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has pointed out that Camilla, 77, and Prince William have become “much closer” in recent months.

“They’ve essentially been left to support the crown while the king and princess focus on their recovery,” she shared with OK! magazine.

In February, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the 75-year-old monarch was diagnosed with a form of cancer. Middleton, 42, also revealed her own diagnosis in March.

“Adversity tends to bring people together. Even with the progress in cancer treatment, it’s still a terrifying experience.”

Bond also added, “Though Camilla and William maintain a brave front for the public (and likely for their spouses as well), there are surely moments when they lean on each other to share how they’re managing.”

Additionally, Bond noted that the bond between William, 42, and his stepmother grew stronger after enduring several difficult experiences together, such as the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

“When Queen Elizabeth passed, William mentioned how Camilla had been by his side through both ‘the happiest and saddest days of his life,’” Bond stated. “Now, Camilla is present during some of those same challenging times, and this must solidify their relationship even further.”

The pair became closer after enduring multiple hardships together, including the death of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

Camilla’s relationship with Prince Harry, the estranged son of King Charles, remains strained. In June, royal expert Christopher Andersen revealed that King Charles still hasn’t forgiven Harry for the accusations made in his controversial memoir, Spare.

“The one thing Charles cannot tolerate is criticism of Camilla,” Andersen, author of The King: The Life of Charles III, told Fox News. “There’s no room for any criticism of her. Unfortunately for Harry… he said some really harsh things about her. He clearly painted her as the villain in the story.”

Harry, who relocated to Montecito, California with his wife Meghan Markle in 2020 after stepping back from his duties as a senior royal, referred to Camilla as “dangerous” and “the villain.” The 39-year-old father of two also accused his stepmother of leaking stories about the royal family to the press to protect her public image and enhance her popularity.

In his memoir, Harry wrote: “I have complicated emotions about having a stepmother who I believed had sacrificed me for her own PR purposes.”
