Queen Camilla reveals her grandchildren have ended up in A&E on ‘several occasions’ as she makes hospital visit

Queen Camilla recently highlighted her personal connection to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon during her visit to celebrate the official opening of its newly upgraded emergency department—a connection that involves her grandchildren.

The hospital holds a special place in Queen Camilla’s heart, as her family has relied on its services on several occasions over the years. While speaking with staff, she openly shared this connection, saying with a smile, “I know quite a lot about you. You’ve treated a lot of my family. My daughter will often call me saying, ‘Guess where I am?’”

She continued, “I’ve had very good feedback because I’ve had friends who’ve come here and grandchildren who have been here on several occasions. And I get a picture of a thumb sticking up at an odd angle, or a leg. I know what a nice place this is and what great care you take of people.”

Camilla is a proud grandmother of five. Her daughter, Laura, is mother to Eliza, 17, and 15-year-old twins, Gus and Louis. Meanwhile, her son Tom Parker Bowles shares two children, Lola and Freddy, with his former wife, Sara Buys. Earlier in 2023, all three of Camilla’s grandsons—Louis, Gus, and Freddy—played a notable role as Pages of Honour during her coronation alongside King Charles.

During her visit to the hospital, Camilla toured the newly renovated emergency department, a project that saw a nearly £35 million investment. She explored the cutting-edge facilities, met with staff, and even spent time with therapy dog Fenton. Speaking of the transformation, she expressed her admiration: “I am so impressed by this A&E. I’ve had very good feedback because I’ve had friends who’ve come here and grandchildren who’ve been here on several occasions.”

She added, “I really wanted to congratulate everybody who has done such a brilliant job with this place and everyone who is working here. I do know from first-hand experience the difference you are making to this part of the country. So, congratulations to you all.”

Following her hospital visit, the queen also stopped by Prospect Hospice in Wroughton, which is marking its 45th anniversary. The hospice provides essential end-of-life care services to residents of north-east Wiltshire, completely free of charge. In a brief address to staff and supporters, Camilla commended their crucial work and shared her appreciation for their dedication.

Meanwhile, in other royal news, British psychic Craig Hamilton-Parker—nicknamed the “new Nostradamus”—has made predictions about the royal family for 2025. Known for allegedly foreseeing events like Covid-19, Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, and Brexit, Craig spoke with Metro about what he believes lies ahead. “It is looking good for Charles this year, but Camilla will experience more health troubles,” he predicted.

Camilla, who dealt with a chest infection and pneumonia last year, may face further health challenges, according to Craig. Only time will reveal how these forecasts play out for the royal family in the months ahead.
