Reality star hospitalized for surgery after doctors discover multiple tumors in her brain

Part 2 of 2

Expressing gratitude, she wrote, “I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health. Thank you to everybody who has reached out, and to everyone who has supported me along this journey.”

Before undergoing surgery, Mellencamp—who was first diagnosed with stage II melanoma in 2022—documented her experience leading up to the procedures.

Posting a photo from her hospital bed, she captioned it, “Counting down the minutes until my babies get here.”

She also shared a comforting message from her father, legendary rock star John Mellencamp, writing, “As my dad said this am, God only gives hard stuff to those of us who can handle it. It’s a hard day but I have faith and amazing surgeons and know everything will be ok.”

Mellencamp has three children and a stepson with her former husband, Edwin Arroyave, from whom she separated in November.

Arroyave stayed by her side throughout the procedures and later reassured fans that everything had gone smoothly.

“So many people asking for updates. All I will say right now is surgery went well. That said, I’ve never seen @teddimellencamp in so much pain. She’s finally getting some much-needed rest. I know she is grateful for the outpouring of love.”

This isn’t the first time Mellencamp has undergone surgery. Back in February, she shared on the Him & Her podcast that she had undergone more than 20 procedures due to her ongoing battle with skin melanoma.

Wishing Teddi Mellencamp a smooth and speedy recovery!
