Super Bowl reporter Adan Manzano, 27, dies 10 months following wife’s tragic passing


Messages of condolence are pouring in online for reporter Adan Manzano, who tragically passed away while covering the Super Bowl.

Manzano, a 27-year-old reporter and sports anchor for Telemundo Kansas City and Tico Sports, was on assignment in New Orleans when he passed away.

Telemundo Kansas City confirmed his passing on Wednesday (February 5) through a social media post.

On February 6, the station shared on Facebook: “We are sorry to share that Adan Manzano, reporter and sports anchor for Telemundo Kansas City passed away yesterday in New Orleans while on assignment to cover the Super Bowl for Telemundo KC and Tico Sports.

“[…] Adam was an exceptional professional and a rising star whose dedication and talent reflected excellence in his work. We will deeply miss Adam, his passion for sports and the contributions he made to the local community. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time.”

The station confirmed that it is “cooperating with authorities as they investigate this tragic event.”

Manzano’s death comes just 10 months after his partner, Ashleigh Boyd, passed away. According to Boyd’s obituary, the 24-year-old lost her life in a car accident on April 11, 2024.

The obituary also mentions that Boyd was the “mother to 15-month-old Eleanor.” Meanwhile, it didn’t take long for fans and colleagues of the reporter to express their condolences online.

One Facebook user wrote: “Rest in peace Adam. Prayers for his family and friends.”

Another shared: “I can’t believe it. My deepest condolences and resignation to his family. An amazing human being and co-worker. Surely one more Star that will shine in the sky. Rest in peace and fly high Adam.”

A third person commented: “We are sorry for your loss. We share in the pain of your family and friends, especially because he was at the peak of his life and deeply connected to our community. Rest in peace, Adam, for being a great reporter covering so many of our Chiefs games in Kansas City, MO… There will be one more victory in your name.”

A fourth expressed: “I am deeply moved by the heartbreaking news of Adan Manzano’s passing. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and our colleagues at Telemundo Kansas City. May you find comfort in the memories and the legacy Adam left behind in every story he told.”
