The heartbreaking reason William and Kate want to reconcile with Harry and Meghan

Prince William and Princess Kate have been estranged from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for nearly four years, but according to an insider, they “are open” to mending their relationship.

A source told Us Weekly that the couple is motivated by their children’s future, explaining, “They want a relationship with Meghan and Harry, and they don’t want the acrimony to carry over to the next generation.”

The sentiment appears to be mutual, as the insider added, “Obviously, the Duke and Duchess want their kids to have a relationship with their cousins.”

William and Kate share three children—Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5—while Harry and Meghan are parents to Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.

Prince Harry is set to visit the UK next week for a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, raising speculation about a possible reunion with William and Kate, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment.

However, another source told The Mirror that a meeting is unlikely. “Their relationship remains extremely fractured. Harry has privately expressed a wish to sit down with his brother, but now is not the time,” they said.

Instead of staying at a royal residence, Harry is reportedly checking into a hotel during his trip, similar to his February visit when he traveled to London following King Charles’ cancer diagnosis.

It remains uncertain whether Harry will see Charles next week, but a friend of the King told The Daily Beast that Charles is eager to repair his relationship with his son.

“Cancer puts things in perspective,” the friend shared. “William respects his father’s wish to reconcile with his son, but his focus now is on protecting his family from stressful situations.”
