Since Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th U.S. president last month, he has been actively engaging with the public—holding press conferences, signing executive orders, and even making an appearance at the Super Bowl.
However, the same can’t be said for his wife, Melania Trump, who has been noticeably absent since the inauguration festivities a few weeks ago.
She has been missing from several key White House events, including meetings with world leaders like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, and King Abdullah of Jordan.
She was also reportedly missing from a dinner at Mar-a-Lago that Trump hosted for Republican senators and their spouses.
Over on the @flotus Instagram account, the only post currently visible is Melania’s official first lady portrait, which was uploaded last month.
The photo, taken the day after Trump’s inauguration, was captured by photographer Régine Mahaux, who has worked with the Trump family for over two decades.
Melania’s absence has sparked speculation among fans, with one person tweeting: “Does anyone know where Melania is now? She was right by his side & now she’s gone. I miss her being here!”
Another questioned: “Where is Melania? It’s been quite some time since she’s been in public.”
A third simply asked: “Does anybody know where Melania is?”
Melania’s current whereabouts remain somewhat uncertain, but it’s believed she has been spending time in New York, where her son, Barron Trump, is attending New York University’s Stern School of Business.
The former first lady has previously addressed how involved she plans to be if Trump secures a second term.
“I already packed, I already selected the furniture that needs to go in,” she told Fox News.
“I will be in the White House and when I need to be in New York, I’ll be in New York and when I need to be in Palm Beach, I’ll be in Palm Beach.
“My first priority is to be a mom, to be a first lady, to be a wife, and once we are in on January 20th, you serve the country.”
Beyond that, Melania may also be focusing on her own personal projects.

Earlier this year, reports surfaced that she had secured a documentary deal with Amazon, set to chronicle her life—from her early years in Slovenia to her modeling career and marriage to Donald Trump.
Filmed in 2024 and slated for release in the latter half of 2025, Melania will serve as an executive producer alongside Fernando Sulichin of New Element Media. Brett Ratner of RatPac Entertainment is set to direct the project.
An Amazon spokesperson confirmed the news, stating: “Prime Video will be sharing more details on the project as filming progresses and release plans are finalised.”
“We are excited to share this truly unique story with our millions of customers around the world.”
