DIY Under-Eye Clove Cream for Dark Circles

Dark circles and puffiness can make you look tired and aged. Treat your under-eye area with a soothing cream made from cloves and other natural goodness! This DIY recipe is gentle, chemical-free, and easy to make at home.

Why Clove?

  • Cloves are rich in antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory properties that increase blood flow, fade dark pigmentation, and soothe puffiness.

  • When used with nourishing oils, they rejuvenate and hydrate delicate skin under the eyes.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves (or grind whole cloves)
  • 4 teaspoons coconut oil (cold-pressed for best results)
  • 1 teaspoon almond oil (rich in vitamin E)
  • 1 teaspoon aloe vera gel (pure, optional for extra soothing)
  • 2–3 drops vitamin E oil (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon vegetable glycerin (optional, for hydration and preservation)

Method

  1. Make a Clove Infusion:

    • Combine ground cloves with ¼ cup water in a small pan.

    • Stir and simmer on very low heat for about 5–7 minutes, releasing the clove’s goodness.

    • Cool, then strain using cheesecloth or a fine strainer. Keep the clove-infused liquid.

  2. Mix the Cream:

    • In a clean bowl, combine coconut oil, almond oil, aloe vera gel, and (if using) vitamin E or vegetable glycerin.

    • Gradually add 4 teaspoons of the cooled clove liquid. Whisk or blend until you get a smooth, creamy texture.

    • If you want a thicker balm-like texture, chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes, then beat lightly again.

  3. Store:

    • Pour into a tiny, sterilized glass jar or container.

    • Keep in the fridge for up to 10 days for freshness.

How to Use

  • After cleansing, use your fingertip to gently dab a small amount under each eye.

  • Massage using a light tapping motion until absorbed.

  • Apply nightly for best results.

Helpful Tips

  • Always do a patch test before use, as clove can be potent for sensitive skin.

  • Use only very small amounts—just enough to lightly coat the under-eye area.

  • Combine with adequate sleep and hydration for faster results.

This natural under-eye cream can gradually reduce the look of dark circles and puffiness, helping your eyes look fresher and brighter each morning!
